What is a shampoo & conditioner that really does make your hair soft & shiny?

so my hair is dull, dry, rough, lifeless, well i could go on and on but u get the point.

So i really need a good shampoo %26amp; conditioner that will help.

Any brands you would recomend.

Is Dove good? What is a shampoo %26amp; conditioner that really does make your hair soft %26amp; shiny?
here are some home remedies which are very good for dry hair. i had dry hair myself but when i tried these tips it was great! they've never been dry again!

Dont go out and buy anything expensive.

First: Purchase a mild Shampoo (To Clarify hair, I will explain why)

Second: TRIM your hair ends (May 1 1/2 to 2 inches)

Third: Here's the magic part: Mix olive oil, almond oil, coconut oil, avocado oil and a ';little'; honey, (honey u will have to heat so it can blend). Either leave on ALL day or all night (if all nite, DONT use honey)

Beat up on an Egg: Separate the white of an egg from the yolk, and whip the white thoroughly. Then add 1 tablespoon of water to the yolk and blend until the mixture is creamy. Next, mix the white and yolk together. Wet your hair with warm water, remove the excess moisture, and apply the egg mixture to your scalp with your fingertips. Massage gently until the froth is worked into your scalp, and then rinse the hair with cool water. Keep applying the mixture until it is used up. Continue to rinse until all of the egg is washed away

Go for the Mayo: Heat up one half cup of mayonnaise until it becomes an oily, white goo and apply to dry, unwashed hair. Cover your hair with a plastic bag and leave on for at least 15 minutes. Then, rinse and shampoo thoroughly.

Mix up a Tropical Treat: Mash one over-ripe banana (the blacker, the better) with a mushy, rotten avocado. Massage this exotic puree into your hair and leave on for at least 15 minutes before washing out鈥n the kitchen sink!).

Grab a Cold One. Beer can give your dry hair a healthy sheen. Before you blow-dry or style, use a pump bottle to spray brew onto your hair. The beer will leave your hair shiny and sleek and its odor will disappear quickly.

In addition to using these home remedies regularly to avoid dry hair, try the following preventative measures:

Avoid overshampooing. Shampooing can wash away the hair's protective oils, so try washing less often and use a mild shampoo labeled ';for dry or damaged hair.';

Condition regularly. Conditioners protect the hair鈥檚 cuticle layer from splitting from the shaft. Pick a conditioner that works well for your hair and use it after every shampoo.

Wear a hat. Too much exposure to wind and sun can leave hair thirsty.

Trim off split ends. The biggest problem caused by dry hair is split ends. Schedule a trim every six to eight weeks to keep fraying ends under control.

Ease up on the heat. Heat (in the form of blow dryers, as well as straightening and curling irons) can quickly dry out hair. Let your hair air dry occasionally. Try using plastic cylinder rollers to straighten hair by wrapping slightly moist hair under and around rollers for about 10 minutes. For curling, try using sponge rollers overnight or sleeping with moist braids.

Don't swim without a cap. Use a rubber cap to protect your hair from the damaging effects of chlorine. If you must forgo a cap, rub a spoonful of olive oil into your hair before diving in.

Another thing is also putting in lotion in your hair after you have gotten out of the shower and you can also put in lotion in hair after you have dried it.

Just rub some lotion on your finger tips and run it through your hair evenly.

Also, something that will help your hair is to take COLDshowers. What most people dont know is that if you take hot showers, the heat gets rid of the oils and other things that your hair needs to be kept healty and shiney.

Smash an avocado and mix with jojoba and peppermint oils. Make sure its really smooth you may want to put it in a food processor with a little water. Then apply some to your scalp and the rest on your hair. Massage for a minute or so then put on a plastic cap. Leave for 15 to 30 minutes. The avocado and jojoba oils will moisterize and the peppermint will stimulate your scalp to loosen any dead skin and open your pores. It will feel great. Your hair will grow better and won't be dry. :)

Hope this helps!

If this doesnt help just contact me and i can give you more tips for your dry hair! What is a shampoo %26amp; conditioner that really does make your hair soft %26amp; shiny?
I swear by Biolage shampoo and conditioner! Yes, it's pricey, but it's good. And it smells reaaaalllyy floral-y. lol. DO NOT use Herbal Essences. It's awful. For me and many other people, it made my hair fall out a LOT more than usual. Smells good, but smell can be deceiving! Report Abuse

please please please don't listen to everyone else's answers!! products bought from drug stores are NOT good for your hair, especially since it is already dry and rough. a good product that i have used before is biolage hydrating shampoo and biolage smoothing conditioner. these two products in combination with each other will smooth and add shine to your hair. i use it every other day and my hair is seriously as smooth as silk. hope this helps!
My favourite are:

Herbal essence

garnier

tresemme

Another point you need to consider is that use the shampoo's conditioner. Dont keep changing shampoos as this will never train your hair therefore it wouldnt cause any change or result. So for the perfect result choose one and use its shampoo and conditioner continuously yet if you are not happy change after a 2months.
Last week I had huge build up on my hair from Pantene... IF you use Pantene, you need to have an alternative to rotate to when your hair gets dull or weighed down. ';I had a waxy build up on mine...'; Yuck!

So I got Aveda Damage Remedy to moisturize, but also got a small bottle of Aveda Hair Detoxifier... ';It takes the build up from chlorine and styling products off of your hair..'; Only use it once or twice a week, until you get everything off. After that once a week if needed. The Damage Remedy is great for making your hair stronger, and preventing damage. They also have a new one I want to try , not sure of the name. Brilliant hair shine is one thing I love on my hair. A small amount makes it soft, and shiny. The scent is amazing too. They are natural products which feels cleaner too.

Look on Aveda.com

They say you can strip floor with Pantene... That was a shocker for me, I like the scent of it...
Dove is okay, but it leaves my hair pretty tangled. Herbal Essances are the absolute best. They come with different types of shampoos and conditioners for your hair style. You can choose the right type for your kind of hair, and it leaves it soft, shiny, and smelling deliciously fruity!
It is not that simple. It depends on various factors like your PH level and various hormones. So, it is better to consult a dramatologist if you problem is serious.

If you wish to use common brands, then some brands work for some people and not for other people. Some of the good brands are Pantene, Garnier, Loreal, Dove etc.
Dove is good, but I like Nexxus shampoo and conditioner. With Nexxus Shampoo, you work it in, and let it stay on for 5 minutes, then when you go to rinse it, it is like there is no shampoo left in your hair. And Nexxus Conditioner leaves your hair so soft! It is sold at Wal-Mart Supercenter.
HEAT is your enemy!

wash in warm, NOT HOT water, rinse, massage in conditioner, and leave in while you finish showering, rinse in COLD (as cold as you can stand it)

if you blow dry, use LOW setting
Dove is good, but i like herbal essence (smells good, makes hair soft-leave on for 2 min. and then rinse in warm water) natural dry. it's better for ur hair. shampoo-Suave i use it hair smells good. i always get comments on it.
Well! I have a hair styler as a friend and she says the top

shampoos with great scent and silkyness. Here they are:

1. Suave

2. Organix

3. Herbal Essentes

4. Dove

5. Loreal
i use to have the same problem. i reccommend you use Schwarzkopf Hair Repair its quite pricey but deff worth it i got the shampoo, conditioner and hair mask.
The kind I use, and it works really well, is Suave Professionals... it's in the orange bottle. I would recomend Garnier, but it makes my hair really oilly... so does Dove, but it might work for you :-)
I would suggest using Garnier Fructis hair products. They really work on all hair types. You can purchase their at any retail store. Dove works wonders as well but not better than Garnier Fructis. GooD LucK!
I asked the stylist a good shampoo %26amp; Conditioner last time I got my hair cut and she suggested Tresemme I have been using it now for like 7 months straight and have noticed a big change.
Selson blue salon and the original Aussie three minute miracle
